Job description
The Legal Counsel will be responsible for delivering comprehensive legal services across commercial, corporate, litigation, and regulatory areas for Talabat in Dubai. This role entails drafting and reviewing contracts, assessing legal risks, offering legal advisory support, managing external counsel, and ensuring compliance with UAE laws and regulations. A successful candidate will have extensive experience in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment, with strong expertise in regulatory frameworks and litigation handling. This position requires fluency in English and Arabic, and the ability to communicate legal concepts clearly to all levels of the organization.

Key responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and documents related to the company’s business activities
- Assist the legal manager in conducting legal research and drafting legal opinions
- Assess potential legal risks and implications of contracts
- Provide expert legal advice on contractual, commercial, and legislative matters
- Support in-depth legal analysis of company projects and business initiatives
- Research, draft, and negotiate legal documents across multiple legal domains
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Delegate and manage litigation cases or investigations with external law firms
- Provide evidence and collaborate with business units for litigation support
- Submit police reports and coordinate with government relations departments
- Provide guidance on potential legal risks associated with lawsuits and investigations
- Cultivate relationships with local law firms for regulatory or compliance support
- Analyze local regulatory decisions and provide compliance recommendations
- Manage responses to inquiries and investigations from local regulatory authorities
- Represent the company before regulatory authorities when required
- Evaluate regulatory authorization requirements and create compliance checklists
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in Law is mandatory; LLM is advantageous
- Minimum of 4–5 years of progressive experience in a legal role
- Experience preferably within an e-commerce, technology-driven industry, or international law firm
- In-depth knowledge of UAE laws and regulations for at least 3 years
- Strong project management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to assess legal risks and develop compliance solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive and adaptable mindset with high-quality work delivery
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required
