Job description
Manage and perform in-depth financial assessment of customers to support credit appraisal and review processes including equity valuations and investment lending. Ensure compliance with risk, legal, and governance frameworks, and provide expert financial opinion to credit committees. Engage in continuous monitoring and effective communication with business units to maintain data integrity and decision quality.

Key responsibilities
- Work fully within risk policies and procedures and compliance regulations and ensure all divisional activities comply with corporate governance and regulatory/legal frameworks
- Interpret and analyze financials supported by spreadsheets and other information to produce effective reports for decision making
- Prepare credit application process reports conforming to CBK standards
- Support credit review process by providing adequate information to credit committees
- Manage information gathering and processing within the unit to support quality analysis
- Engage with business units to gather clarifications/additional details on financials
- Provide expertise in financial review and ensure independent opinions on customers
- Drive effective liaison with business units for analysis clarifications
- Ensure submission of analysis reports in line with PBD quality standards
- Monitor and review credit facilities to ensure thresholds are not breached
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Certification/Experience
- Minimum 5 years of banking sector experience
- Experience in financial analysis and associated tools, techniques, and methodologies
- CFA or minimum CFA Level 1&2; FRM or CCM or ACCM recommended
- Extensive experience of financial analysis and handling financials
- Ability to interpret financials and support informed lending decisions
- Knowledge of corporate banking products and credit
- Expertise in accounting policies, standards, and financial analysis tools
- Effective writing and communication skills
- Stay updated about industry trends and macroeconomic news
- Maintain and update credit files and ensure compliance with risk thresholds
