Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data management strategy aligned with business and technology objectives.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, privacy, security, and compliance.
- Lead data stewardship and promote ethical data practices.
- Oversee secure and efficient data storage, processing, and retrieval systems.
- Implement and manage data platforms, tools, and integration processes.
- Ensure accurate and consistent data across systems.
- Manage the full data lifecycle and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Drive innovative practices to improve data utilization and extraction of value.
- Lead development of analytics strategies and support data visualization for decision-making.
- Collaborate with data protection, cybersecurity, architecture, and analytics teams.
- Foster alignment with global and regional IT and business units.
- Lead, mentor, and grow the Data Management team.
- Develop dashboards to track team performance and SLA/OLA compliance.
- Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, and customer-centricity.
- Coordinate with HR and GIT management to recruit and onboard talent.
Experience & skills
- 14+ years of experience in technology, digital, or data domains.
- 5+ years in data management roles.
- At least 5 years in managerial/leadership roles.
- Bachelorās or advanced degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Management, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CDMP, DGSP are highly desirable.
- Proven track record in data strategy implementation.
- Strong expertise in data governance, modeling, quality frameworks, and compliance.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), data lakes, lakehouses, and mesh architecture.
- Knowledge of API management and data exchange systems.
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Understanding of data privacy laws such as GDPR and Bahrain data regulations.
- Expertise in data visualization tools like Power BI.
