Job description
As a Senior Buyer for Ted Baker under Al-Futtaim Group, you will manage the end-to-end buying process for the brand, ensuring financial goals are met while delivering on brand positioning and customer expectations. This includes overseeing product selection, stock evaluation, market research, vendor relationships, and seasonal planning. You will coordinate with internal departments such as merchandising, VM, marketing, and operations to align product strategies and visual rollouts. The role also involves mentoring junior team members, enhancing the customer offer through exclusive collections, and driving sales growth across regional markets.

Key responsibilities
- Evaluate stock performance and plan with Merch, VM, Ops, and Store teams.
- Build and manage strong relationships with suppliers.
- Conduct market research and align commercial calendar with marketing and VM.
- Coordinate closely with store teams for ongoing feedback and assortment optimization.
- Identify new distribution channels aligned with brand performance goals.
- Work with finance and operations to forecast demand and plan inventory.
- Plan exclusive collections for countries or specific channels.
- Assess supply chain risks and coordinate with logistics.
- Participate in management reviews and provide senior-level data insights.
- Analyze product trends and historical data to support seasonal strategy.
- Attend buying trips and make purchases against open-to-buy plans.
- Monitor sales, margins, and inventory against financial targets.
- Adjust forecasts and ordering strategies based on in-season performance.
- Gather customer feedback through store visits and integrate into buying decisions.
- Participate in competitor analysis and trend scouting.
- Ensure consistent communication across merchandising, planning, and store ops.
- Contribute to cross-functional meetings and operational alignment.
- Provide coaching and feedback to junior buying staff.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of buying and merchandising experience in a fashion brand.
- Proven track record in driving sales and profit.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Advanced knowledge of merchandising and planning principles.
- Clear understanding of retail KPIs and financial measures.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent MS Office and PowerPoint skills.
- Interpersonal skills to interact professionally with executives and vendors.
- Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive business data.
