About the role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the implementation of the expansion plan in for retail Discount stores in UAE and the identification of new market opportunities to achieve Majid Al-Futtaim Retail Discount growth targets. The role holder is also responsible for ensuring all assigned projects are completed on time and in line with budget and overall plan and assist in identifying, classifying and selecting sites included in the expansion plan.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and ensure effective planning and implementation of the expansion plans based on the strategy and objectives defined.
  • Identify and propose sites for the opening of new stores within the overall expansion plan.
  • Perform feasibility studies including partner alliances to ensure success of opening including legal, government regulations and the business set up process.
  • Monitor projects and teams and ensure proper execution and completion in a timely manner and in line with set plans and budget while ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
  • Evaluate and propose action plans to increase profitability and productivity.
  • Prepare periodical business reports to inform management about the current status of planned or actual projects.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements.
  • Ensure constant availability of the required competent staff to support the organization in meeting all its responsibilities, plans, and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years in the related managerial function.
  • Preferably 4+ years in the retail business or closely related industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding needs analysis, positioning, business justification and closing skills.
