About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a Director to join Information Technology Team in Jumeirah Group & Corporate.
Responsibilities
- Design enterprise data architecture and define data modeling standards to ensure consistency, scalability, and governance across systems.
- Define best practices for data modeling, ETL pipelines, and database design, and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support analytics, reporting, and operational needs.
- Partner with IT and engineering teams to design data architectures and pipelines that support business needs. Optimize data storage, indexing, and retrieval for cost-effectiveness and performance.
- Lead cloud data strategy and implementation using platforms such as Azure (Azure Synapse, Databricks) and architect big data solutions using Spark and GraphQL to handle large-scale data processing.
- Evaluate, implement, and manage analytics platforms and tools to ensure scalability and security while staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data and analytics.
- Define and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance (GDPR, PIPL, Consumer Privacy Protection Acts, etc.), and implement security best practices for data access, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to establish master data management (MDM) frameworks.
- Design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Azure Data Factory or Informatica, ensuring seamless data integration across multiple systems, databases, and APIs.
- Monitor and improve data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows.
- Work closely with Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Analysts to align data architecture with business objectives while recruiting, mentoring, and developing a diverse, high-performing analytics team.
- Partner with executives and business leaders to identify opportunities for data-driven innovation, communicate complex analytics concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, and advocate for data literacy within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years in data and analytics leadership roles with a proven track record of delivering business value through data initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with modeling tools, efficient data structure design, and expertise in data governance, data engineering, and advanced analytics methodologies.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), programming languages (e.g., Python, PySpark, SQL), cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), and data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake).
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing budgets and aligning data strategies with organizational priorities.
