About the role
NES Fircroft Permanent Placement division is looking for a Manager – Mechanical Engineering to be based in Dubai. Our client is a UAE leading provider of marine and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors. Your role: Responsible for Basic and Detail Engineering for Mechanical systems, Package Engineering for Rotating and Static Equipment and follow on Production Engineering for Marine and Offshore Engineering Projects.
Responsibilities
- Broad technical knowledge in Equipment Packages such as GTG’s, LP/LLP/HP Compressors, Miscellaneous Pumps, Generator Engines, Propulsion Machinery, Offshore Cranes, Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Boilers, AHU’s, Chiller units etc.
- Thorough knowledge in package management and related activities till the completion of package life cycle.
- Experience in preparation and development of Technical Specifications, Datasheets, and Requisitions for Quotations (RFQ) for various Equipment Packages including high value packages such as GTG’s HP/LP Compressors for Topsides.
- Experience in selection and design implementation for equipment packages as per criticality rating
- Able to manage regular technical meetings with applicable PRE’s, disciplines, Vendors, Trades and Procurement
- Experience in developing various Mechanical engineering deliverables and liaising with Engineers, Designers, Project management to align project milestones
- Basic knowledge on HVAC system design for Marine and Offshore platforms
- Experience in aligning equipment package design requirements for common systems (such as Process Systems, EIT systems etc.) over the battery limits between the Interface scopes
- Thorough knowledge on HAZID / HAZOP requirements for any selected equipment packages
- Experience in implementing constructability requirements based on installation criticality
- Liaise with Mechanical workshop and other construction departments to resolve any site issues during equipment packages installation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, desirable master’s degree in relevant field.
- Proficient with software such as Microsoft Office. Desirable Project Management training.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in a shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Lead Mechanical in Engineering Company.
- Package Engineering experience in high value projects.
